I started practicing yoga as a teenager. Since the beginning, I’ve been captivated by yoga’s demanding philosophies, enchanting myths, and the sophistication of its myriad practices. I’ve studied with leading teachers in a wide variety of disciplines - movement, anatomy, meditation, Sanskrit, philosophy, and history. As a teacher, I try to pass these lessons on to students and other teachers, along with my own interpretations. As someone with numerous limitations, I’m sensitive to my students’ limitations in turn. I love collaborating with students to find practices and adaptations to sustain their practice.

I started practicing Pilates when I was 10 years old. It was part of my conditioning for diving and swimming, which I did up until I was 19. I returned to mat Pilates in my 20s and then found reformer/machine Pilates in my 30s. It helped me to find strength, precision, and a deeper appreciation of the extraordinary ways in which bodies move and heal. I love learning from the wonderful teachers in the East Bay and in Northern California. I completed my initial instructor training in Berkeley and continue to learn through Balanced Body.

If you’re not in my class or working with me one-on-one, you’ll likely find me sipping something and chatting away at Lavender Café (on San Pablo), walking in Tilden Park, making or viewing art, or baking.
